Personae: 170 Elliott Erwitt’s photos in Forlì
The retrospective of the American photographer collects for the first time his color pictures to the black and white iconic images, in two different sizes. The leitmotiv is the tell about the man and his masks, also in the section of Erwitt’s alter ego, André S. Solidor.
The exhibition will welcome you with his most famous black and white photographs: the Paris Jump, California Kiss or the iconic pictures of Marilyn, Che Guevara and Grace Kelly. In the last three room visitors will find color prints. Published for the first time in the book KOLOR in 2013, they are the main part of the exhibition. A room is also dedicated to the teasing images of André S. Solidor, who derides the world of contemporary art with his surreal works.
In the exhibition, a video will tell also Elliott Erwitt’s work as a director, with three examples from his well supplied film archive.
