Hannah Whitaker

Born in Washington DC, lives in Brooklyn, New York, Hannah Whitaker is a graduate of Yale University and a Master of Fine Arts in Advanced Photographic Studies from Bard College/ICP in New York. She has developed her own aesthetic with objects and humans through a direct photographic approach and a solid understanding of light and image composition. In her photographs we find textures, geometries, shapes and colors but also the use of various in-camera effects, which led her to develop a unique, personal and recognizable language. Hannah Whitaker has participated in numerous exhibitions in the United States and France and was nominated for the Prix Découvertes at Les Rencontres d'Arles 2012 and at Foam Talent in 2014. She collaborates with the Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Paris; Marinaro, New York; and M+B Gallery, Los Angeles. She shoots regular commissions with magazines such as the New York Times and advertising campaigns with clients from all over the world. She is also available to develop special projects with brands.
