Steve McCurry, Vacheron Constantin Overseas

The latest campaign for Vacheron Costantin, Overseas, is shot by Steve McCurry.

Images of far and near places witness the spirit of the journey of the important Swiss house of watch and the philosophy of our photographer.

Steve McCurry and Vacheron Constatin: the spirit of the journey in the Overseas Tour

The Overseas Tour started from Mexico, from the monumental aqueduct of Padre Tembleque. What fascinated Steve McCurry was the simmetry of the structure, designed more than 500 years ago.

The second stop is the Grand Central Station in New York, photographed during the night in an unsual quietness.

Also India, with the stairs of Chand Baori stepwell, was included in the Overseas Project. The optical illusions of the steps captured Steve McCurry’s attention.

And then China, with the Leshan Giant Buddha, the Onsen in Tsurunoyu in Japan, the images of Chefchaouen in Morocco, to the Crawick Multiverse in Scotland and the rock-hewn monolithic churches of Saint George in Lalibela, Ethiopia.

Steve McCurry stopped also in Geneve, in the factory of the company. This is where the watches of the Overseas collection are created.

The journey ends with the photographs of Samarcanda, in Uzbekistan, of the Red Square in Moscow, photographed with the effects of perspectives from the rooftop of the GUM, and finally the majestic Observatory in Paris, built in 1667 and still a reference point for research.
