Steve McCurry Icons reaches Ancona. More than 100 among his most important photographs are included the exhibition at the Mole Vanvitelliana, from Feb. 26th to Jun. 25th 2017.
After the success of the venues in Otranto and Palermo, now Ancona hosts the icons of the American photographer. The exhibition begins with a powerful section about portraits: men and women from all over the world look at us through the lens of the camera. Steve McCurry allows us to meet different ethnic groups. Sharbat Gula, the afghan girl, will be part of this important show.
The story of the finding of the girl, portraited in 1984, has been told in the documentary the visitors will find at the begin of the exhibition, Finding the Afghan Girl, produced by the National Geographic in 2002.
