VALERIO SPADA

Valerio is a contemporary artist who uses photography as a critical investigation of some of the most poignant themes.

His project Gomorrah Girl , self-produced and self-published, speaks of realities contaminated by Camorrah (the name of the Neapolitan Mafia); contradictions and dignity of the healthy side of the social universe, redeeming its pride through aesthetically beautiful images. The juxtaposition of candid and posed photography and the intercut from one to the other, and back again, made Gomorrah Girl unique in its genre, securing its world-wide success celebrated with prizes, exhibitions and lectures.
