Exhibition Overview
The legendary Chamagudao, or Tea-Horse Road, winds through dizzying mountain passes, across famed rivers like the Mekong and the Yangtze. Past monasteries and meadows in a circuitous route from Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces in western China to the Tibetan capital city of Lhasa.
With a close look at remote lands with mystical atmospheres, Michael Yamashita immortalizes lifestyles that are vanishing. His curious and passionate eye scan without filters the ancient aspects of Tibetan culture now in rapid transformation.
Other Stories. The most famous icons by Michael Yamashita joins the collection of the Shangri-La project.
